BEach resort luxury in Vietnam

vietnam seaside resort at Phu Quoc

ChenLa Resort, Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam

Travel from SFO, on Eva Air through Taipei, was uneventful, even relaxing, just the way I like it. Even made it through immigration in Ho Chi Minh City so fast we were able to get on an earlier flight to the island of Phu Quoc! When was the last time you could say THAT!

chenla resort deck - tough duty

Jetlag detox!

Arrived Chen La Resort in the afternoon and went directly to the pool.... ahhh

chenla resort deck - tough duty

Long Beach, Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam

After two days of luxuriating at Chen La, we moved into town, to the main beach area where all of the action is on Phu Quoc - 'action' being walking, swimming, reading, and getting a massage!

My favorite massage girl

This little gal was very strong, best beach massage I have had anywhere! At $3.00 an hour, it would have been a crime NOT to get one every day.

inexpensive bikinis in vietnam!

Better than Target!

Never expected to find great bikinis in Vietnam for $15. - I got TWO, so I'm all set for next summer's beach volleyball in Tahoe!

dining on the beach in vietnam

Dining with toes in the sand is the norm on Long Beach.

My daily lattes came from Cassia Cottages - delivered to my beach chair in front of our neighboring bungalow resort...

Hiep Thanh Resort beach front bungalows

Hiep Thanh Resort

40 bungalows set in a nice garden right on the beach!

Phu Quoc bungalow view

Relaxing on the veranda

Phu Quoc is not as cheap as Thailand, as there is a shortage of accommodation during high season. We loved our simple, $60 bungalow at Hiep Thanh Resort, but there were cheaper options around. I met a Canadian couple that was paying $8 just off the beach.
