Buenos Aires and Bariloche, Argentina

Argentina Lake District

Argentina's Fantastic Lake District

This South American adventure begins in the vibrant capital of the country, Buenos Aires, with a stroll through the colorful section of town known as La Boca; a visit to one of the world's most famous cemeteries, the final resting place of Evita, and an evening of Tango, the passionate music and dance that reflect the soul of the Argentine people.

Next, Mark & Julie fly to the "Switzerland of South America", Bariloche, to ski the dramatic peaks of the Andes and soar high over the resort with a French daredevil.

A boat trip through the stunning Argentine Lake District reveals the diversity of the region - rain forests cling to the sides of snow covered peaks while icy waterfalls rush past towering stands of bamboo.

TIPS for TRAVELERS to ARGENTINA

The ski season here is reversed (Southern Hemisphere!) and shorter. It lasts from approximately mid June till mid September. September is springtime. The ski area called Gran Catedral is about 20 minutes from the town of Bariloche.

If you like Latin music you will be in heaven in Buenos Aires. Just wander the pedestrian zone at night and you will hear all types drifting from the various bars and street artists.
